Hypnosis proven effective in helping Cancer Patients

A combination of hypnosis and local anesthesia could improve outcomes for certain types of surgery, in addition to reducing drug use and length of stay, according to a press release by the European Society of Anaesthesiology.

A study presented at the European Anaesthesiology Congress in Amsterdam analyzed the impact of local anesthesia and hypnosis on certain kinds of breast cancer surgery and thyroidectomy. The researchers concluded that in all the procedures, local anesthesia was feasible but not enough to ensure patient comfort.

In the first study, 18 women out of 78 had hypnosis for a number of breast cancer surgical procedures, while the rest underwent general anesthetic for the same operations. Although the hypnotized patients spent a few more minutes in the OR, opioid drug use, recovery room stay and hospital stay were greatly diminished in the first group compared to the second.

Using Hypnosis to Gain More Control Over Your Illness

Using Hypnosis to improve physical health is nothing new. There are thousands of documented cases around the globe where people have used Hypnosis for medical and dental proceedures. In April of this year the New York Times published an article siting the case of a woman who underwent brain surgey and used Hypnosis to create the optimal mental space before surgery and a speedy recovery time after her surgery. This is a wonderful example of what mind-body therapies like Hypnotherapy can assist people with.

Write Your Way to New Beliefs

A long time ago (well, maybe not so long ago), I learned to use and recognize writing as a powerful tool for change. Even today I write new beliefs I want to welcome into my life. I make noticeable signs for myself to remind my mind that we are creating a new reality. I place them on sticky notes all around my house, as well as in strategic areas on my desk. I read them several times a day.

Often times I re write them over and over and over in a piece of paper. A similar technique to what some of my teachers used to make me do in elementary school: “write 100 times -I must not…or I shouldn’t…” Although I cannot say I agree with some of the teaching methodology of that time, I’ve got to give those people credit for the rationale behind the technique of repetition. Human beings learn through repetition. We learn to walk through repetition; we learn to drive a car through repetition. We created thinking patterns and feeling patterns through repetition. Remember, that repetition creates a hypnotic state of mind and when your mind is relaxed; your mind is open to receiving new positive information.

I use repetition together with emotional conviction to create new beliefs at a subconscious level. Once the subconscious mind has accepted these believes, new behaviors emerge. Once new behaviours emerge, attraction happens automatically.
You can write yourself new beliefs, from health to wealth, from business success to charitable contribution, from relationships to spirituality, from productivity to creativity. The options are endless. I suggest you start with a couple of new beliefs. Be persistent. Stay focused. Whatever it is you choose to work on, will became reality.

Follow these basic rules when creating new believes. You’ll be amazed by the results.
1- When writing use present tense.
2- Write with as much emotion and feeling as you possibly can. Use words the mean something to you and move you.
3- Close your eyes and Visualize what that area of your life will be like and feel like once your new believes are part of your consciousness.
4- Read and write the believes several times a day. The more, the better!
5- Enjoy the fruit of your amazing mind !

Healing Emotions

Healing Emotions takes time and it usually happens in layers or stages. Whether we’re healing from something in our distant past like childhood neglect, or something more recent like the breakup of a relationship, grieving is an inevitable layer or stage in the healing process. Although grieving does not need to be long, it does require time and energy. Grieving usually involves denial, blame, anger, loss, exhaustion and ultimately acceptance; only then can the healing process move on. The first step in healing is telling the truth. Telling the truth to yourself and the world around you,. Telling the truth helps you move on to the next steps, which are grieving, accepting, forgiving and ultimately moving on.

I came across these wonderful words about grieving and healing. I’ve chosen to quote the author, Geneen Roth, because I believe her wisdom must be shared.

“The purpose of grieving is not just to heal. It is not just to understand the pain. It is not just to forgive or to accept it. Healing is the step between grieving and growing. The purpose of healing is to become whole and the purpose of being whole is to move toward a vision of life in which you are fully alive, connected to what sustains you, available to receive and give love. Healing form the past is the first step. Living in the present is next. Creating a future…is next.”

Healing emotions does not have to be a long process, but with that said, the process does have steps or layers. As a hypnotherapist I assist my clients in the healing process by facilitating the transition from layer to layer. This process can help you start living in the present rather than living in reaction to the past. Once in the present, we can start to create our future.

Emotional Eating-Using Hypnotherapy to End it

Often times I get requests to help people end Emotional Eating habits. Emotional Eating affects not only the physical health of the body, but also, the emotional side of the person. People feel as though they have no control over their eating habits or amounts of food they’ll consume. Emotional Eaters feel out of control and live plagued with guilt and a sense of defeat. They create a negative self defeating cycle of eating, blame, anger, sadness and eating again.

I use Hypnotherapy to help each client break this cycle in her or his own way, dealing with the emotions and habits unique to each of them. There is no need to continue to live with the Emotional Eating Vicious Cycle. Hypnotherapy will help you:

  • Reclaim control over your eating habits.
  • Create Control over the amount of food you eat.
  • End the guilty feelings
  • Create new healthier ways to look at yourself
  • Create new healthier ways to interpret your thoughts
  • Create new Healthier way to deal with your emotions
  • Strengthen your Confidence

End Emotional Eating Now! Harness your inner resources to create a change that will bring physical and emotional benefits to your life. Call today 613-800-8558. I’m looking forward to helping you.
